Shades of Blue

So you've decided to use blue for your wedding. Congratulations! Now comes the hard part�which shade of blue?

As you might have already figured out, "blue" can be a very tricky color to define. It can range from deep navy to a light cornflower; it can be on the purple side, like some periwinkles, on the green side, like tiffany blue or turquoise, or even on the gray side, giving more of a steel blue.

Blues also go well with many other colors, so you can choose a color scheme that suits you and your FI and the wedding you hope to have. Blue and white are a fresh combination, and could have a nautical feel to them. Cool blues and silver or white can be used for an elegant winter wedding, while blue and brown are growing in popularity and give a rich, classic feel to an event. Greens and blues seem to have a natural affinity; you could use vibrant shades, like lime and electric blue, for a contemporary look, or more muted tones for something more natural. These shades also work well for a beach wedding. Almost any color can be used with blue, including yellow, orange and pink. Since all knotties enjoy attention and recognition for their bios (secretly, or not so secretly), I'm adding a place to recognize a bio I'm digging for the day, week, or whenever I get around to updating. Call it the editorial section of the bio.

Bios of the Week 1976love

Why? Because she did Tiffany blue to perfection, the men in the bridal party look like they stepped straight from a magazine and because I'm pretty sure she had the cutest ring/broom bearers ever. Plus, she did most of the wedding DIY!

Why? Because not only are she and her DH adorable (can't you tell from this picture?), but they also had a touchingly beautiful wedding. If you are looking to do a beach wedding without going "over the top," check her bio out stat. And they had lobster! Mmmm....

Why? Because her wedding was glam, retro and uniquely beautiful. Blue and green in jewel tones, peacock feathers and touches of Hawaii all worked together to make this wedding amazing!
